Ms. Galasso was born in Waterbury, Connecticut. She moved to Long Island, New York for four years to pursue a BFA in Digital Arts and Design (2002) at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. After a stint of working in New York City, she migrated back to Connecticut, did some freelance design for a bit and then switched gears, pursuing an MS in Education (2005) from the University of Bridgeport, all while working as a Graduate Intern in the Waterbury Public Schools. Ms. Galasso later taught a few web and interactive media courses at Gibbs College in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Currently Ms. Galasso is a 2nd year Art Teacher at W.F. Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury, Connecticut, which is part of the Connecticut Technical High School System.

"It's an exciting job, working in a technical high school, because there are so many opportunties to make connections with my students between Art, their Trade and how they relate to the real world. "

As of October 2007, with the launch of the Janet Galasso Design website, in addition to teaching, Ms. Galasso is freelance designing again and working on new artwork.

Ms. Galasso has ten years of graphic design experience, with six years in the printing industry. She freelances at night, weekends and school holidays, in both print and web design. Her goal is to work together with her clients to find solutions that effectively help communicate their business and marketing needs to the public.
